Armed with weapons that harness the power of the forge worlds, the Vanguard are so radioactive that even approaching them is tantamount to capital punishment. Pyrrhic victory is their lot, for despite their armour the radiation slowly brings their own death, while their carbines exact the same punishment, albeit more quickly, upon their enemies.

The Skitarii Vanguard, wearing helmets and breathing masks, assault the enemy with their radium carbines. Each soldier is clad in an industrial-looking Skitarii brigandine, emblazoned with the symbol of the Adeptus Mechanicus, bristling with dataloggers, antennae and environmental sensors. Due to the harsh terrain of Mars, their legs have been replaced below the knee with bionic prosthetics that reinforce the cold, cybernetic air of the models.

The unit can include an Alpha, armed with a radium pistol or electro pistol and a melee weapon (power sword, taser baton or electro mace) and three models can have special weapons. You have access to a transuranic arquebus, an electro rifle and a plasma blunderbuss, the latter of which comes with a special head and pack. One of the models can become the Alpha, equipped with an enhanced datacable or omnispex; the box art truly depicts the Adeptus Mechanicus' obsession with data collection.

This multi-part plastic kit contains everything you need to assemble ten Skitarii Rangers or ten Skitarii Vanguard. The box contains 124 parts: 23 heads, including 12 Vanguard helmet variants with respirator, 25 weapons, a small transfer sheet, a Citadel 60x35.5mm Oval Base and ten 25mm Round Bases.
